I have lived on the beautiful Central Coast since 2004. Before that, I was a long time resident of the Hawkesbury district, another beautiful part of the greater Sydney area.
Why did I become a celebrant? It actually goes back to 2002, when I married my husband, John, in a civil ceremony. We both put a lot of work into preparing for the wedding, as we were holding the ceremony and the reception in our own garden. Even though we had a wonderful celebrant (thank you, Ruth!), I did a lot of work on our ceremony myself. It was at this time that I realised how much I was enjoying myself, and that being a celebrant was something I could really see myself doing. Shortly after that, I set myself the task of looking into what I needed to do to fulfil my dream.
Before becoming a celebrant, I spent many years in an administrative capacity in the corporate world, and have gained a great deal of experience dealing with people from all walks of life, coordinating, managing and facilitating numerous situations. I am also a Justice of the Peace, a position I have held for over 10 years, as well as being a member of the Australian Marriage Celebrants Inc.
Since moving to the Central Coast, I have been able to discover the many stunning locations the coast has to offer, from golden beaches to rainforests, vast waterways, and attractive intimate gardens. And on my doorstep there is also the picturesque Hunter Valley, Lake Macquarie and historic Newcastle. If you have decided to get married outside of these areas, don’t worry, as I am happy to accommodate you as well.
John and I love living near the forest in Ourimbah, where we are visited by many different species of wildlife, from brush turkeys to diamond pythons. We love the relaxed, casual atmosphere of the coast, and are so glad of our decision to live here.
Our extended family is important to both of us, and we enjoy watching them mature and grow, and seeing the next generation come along. Check out my blog, for current news and upcoming events.
